Here's the latest project completed. I've wanted a clock table ever since I saw a cute one in Home Goods. But it was too costly. My friend, Val, said I should make it. Challenge accepted! I began a hunt for the perfect table and ended up finding one at a consignment store. It was good because it was wooden and all we really had to do was attach some legs to it.

Spray painting continues. Unfortunately I don't have the before photos for these pieces.
The two chairs were in miserable shape when I first bought them from an estate sale in San Diego. They were white and the cushions went straight to the trash! I painted them black. But now I am out of the usual black paint era that I always did. I got new cushions from Walmart and decided to use this mocha color for the chairs.
The table was originally black, (Southern Living at Home table) but I used my leftover marigold yellow to paint it.
The double lounger was in extremely rusted. Jim sanded it and painted it a cream color. But NO MORE dull colors! Going pumpkin orange for the lounger to match the cushions.
I think it all turned out pretty well!

Here is my first attempt at planting bulbs. I bought these hyacinth's at Costco last year. Of course, with Costco, there was way more than I thought in the package! So I couldn't plant them all in the yard. I planted the rest in three pots which I kept in the garage, per advice from seasoned Idahoans! Low and behold, they started growing and even did better than the ones in the garden. So I planted them all in this barrel for the front yard! So pretty!!!

It's been a while since I've posted. Been sick for over a month, but on the mend now!
Just in time for spring! Spring is starting to peek out in the Magic Valley! The farmers are starting to get their fields ready for planting.
The bulbs are coming up, yippee!!! Can't wait to see how they look!
Yesterday and today, I saw the kill deer in the rock area. I guess they are back from wherever they go during winter.

Last night, Jim and I attended the 11th annual
Death by Chocolate! OMG! Did I ever in my wildest dreams think I wouldn't be able to finish eating chocolate?!
The had five categories: best cookie, best cake, best brownie, best candy and best specialty dessert. I wished we had started with the brownies because the time we got to those samples, I couldn't finish them. Just a taste of each one. I should've paced myself, lol! I told the servers that I was "getting full, but I'm no quitter!" I didn't start taking photos until the second table. Everything was delicious! We had fun but think we'll take next year off!

This is Jim's latest woodworking project! Our hamper in the laundry room is starting to fall apart. Can't wait to see how it turns out! May even do a stencil on the front, we'll see!

Today on the way home from church, we drove past the Twin Falls Cemetery and there were six deer hanging out. We turned around to go back and see them better. I was hoping to snap a pic but they were having none of that! They took off, just far enough for them to feel safe. Love the random wildlife sightings here in Twin!

Jim and I were talking yesterday about the weather. I'm torn between wanting spring to be here and to have more snow! I'm super excited to see if all the bulbs I planted for the first time will pop up! And we planted about a dozen trees on our lot and some were "upset" at first. We're hoping they survived the winter.
Then last night, it snowed about an inch. Nothing is better, to me, than waking up to that sight!!! So beautiful!
That's what's great about Idaho: you CAN have it all at your home!!!

This is amazing! I've always wondered what it would look like to see an icicle forming.
Check it out!

Another great day at the Mustard Seed! I've worked there for over a year and still look forward to it every Tuesday. Today my purchases included a glass block that I've been wanting to make a nativity out of. (Pinterest idea) I also got a bag of golf tees for an upcoming-secret-craft project. And of course a bag full of toys and stuffed animals for Operation Christmas Child! I've already collected 52 stuffed animals for the Twin Falls Community Packing party, yahoo!

One of the things I most like about living in Idaho is the weather! Yes, my San Diego friends it's true! I love the change of seasons! Watching the snow fall just hasn't gotten old! With the cold weather I get to enjoy one of my hobbies: jigsaw puzzles! And getting them from the thrift store for between .50 to 1.00 makes it a cheap hobby! Also I've been told it's good for the brain and with Demetia and Alzheimers on both sides of my family, I need all the help I can get! This particular puzzle has 2000 pieces, my biggest yet! It covers the whole dining room table. I think I need to stick to 1500 or less, lol!

This is a great way to start off this blog. Today I was at Target, on the hunt for great after Christmas bargains for items to put in the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. All Christmas was 70% off! I loaded up my basket and headed to the check out. The cashier had to ring up most of my items individually so I was apologizing to the people behind me, but explaining a bit about OCC. When it came time to pay, the gentleman behind me said he wanted to pay. He said, "you get to do this all the time, I want to!" I was shocked and hugged him, with many thanks as well! God continually surprises me!
